My 100 Facts About Me

1. I never go by my real, full name, LeShannon. It never occurs to me to use it, nor do I want to. My full name is Jeanette LeShannon Williams.
2. Jeanette comes from my mom's mom, Lilly Jeanette. Le--from my dad and grandma. Shannon because of mom's friend's son's name and the show in the late 70's Sha na na...I kid you not.
3. I hate Jeanette. ETA: It's growing on me.
4. At least half of my brothers and sisters have some form of Lee, Leigh, Lea, Leah in their name.
5. I have 3 half-brothers and 3 half-sisters, all from my dad's side.
6. I grew up as an only child.
6. Only 5 people in the world make me intimidated by their "smarts"...among them is my best friend DeeDee.
7. I graduated 3rd in my class after a set of twins.
8. I first majored in Architecture to be like my dad and then switched to Religion and History. ETA: Then got a MDiv in Global Missions, focusing on Urban Ministry.
9. I am the first person in my family to go to college.
10. I love being left-handed. I am obsessed really.
11. I am a parking lot nazi. I will drive around til I find a close space, even if it takes more time.
12. I am also a line nazi. Don't you ever cut in front of me!
13. I've seen Paul Simon in concert--4th row. It was Dee's graduation present, but she couldn't come. ETA: We did get to see S&G in ATL in '03, Dallas '04
14. We did get to meet and chat with Sean Astin. Just an overall cool experience.
15. I run over 19 fanlistings. I belong to over 300 listings.
16. I learned html in 2001 from DeeDee. ETA: Got my first email in 98.
17. I saw Aladdin over 32 times in the first month I bought the tape.
18. My first pets were Benji the dog because I was obsessed with Benji and Cap'n the dog--no reason for the name.
19. My first memory is walking down the driveway, holding my uncle's hand, and chewing on a straw...the second was jumping on a mattress with balloons around me.
20. I've only had one grandparent alive while I was growing up.
21. She died my first semester in seminary.
22. I used to have an obsession with numbers, number patterns, and counting things. I would sit in a room and count all the board slats in the paneling, the tiles on the floors and ceilings, etc.
23. I have a thing about using"...." when I write.
24. 24 is my favorite number along with 7.
25. My sister's birthday and my parent's anniversary is on January 25.
26. I love Monet!
27. I took piano lessons for about 5 years.
28. I've lived in MS for all my life except 4th grade in Rosman, NC. ETA: Waco,TX since 2000.
29. I walked in the door on the first grade of school in Rosman and was asked, "Your name is not Shannon, is it?" There were 3 other Shannons in that class. Two became my best friends, the third my boyfriend.
30. I have very odd luck. Weird things--good and bad--happen to me.
31. For example, if I go to a party or a give-away, I will win the prize usually. In Israel, if something bad was to happen, it did to me.
32. In Egypt & Israel, I lost my luggage, camera stolen, dehydration, searched for drugs in airport, personal items stolen in room, fell more than once, twisted and swollen ankle, fell in a tomb, cut on pottery in the wall of the dig, got lost, got left, dropped 2 cameras and broke them, fell in a hole on the dig, and tore several items of clothing. However, I bought a jewel for 20 dollars, and it ended up being a yellow sapphire worth 1,000 dollars!
33. Been to really cool places like the Grand canyon, Montana, New Orleans, Mexico, Germany, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, and the Alamo! Woo! ETA: NYC, Philly, Denver, St. Louis, and NYC again.
34. Every year, I learn a different odd skill. In 9th grade I learned to say the alphabet backwards.
35. I passed a pencil to a friend during Spanish and the pencil stuck in my hand. We decided to dig out the lead with a pen top. OWWW...
36. I was helping my mom bring in groceries in Jul 99 when I tripped over my pj bottoms, caught myself, and tripped over a box of ceramics. I fell against a beam and wood stove. I shattered my wrist. Later, during a dance number at school, a friend bumped into me, the bone shifted, and I had to have a 't' plate put in.
37. It freaks me out to think that I have a "bone putty" in my wrist made up of dead people's bones.
38. I am scared of dead people.
39. I am scared of bridges, water, needles, and chickens.
40. When I was about 7, I was mauled by a rooster.
41. In college, I was named "Chickenboy." Chicken because we went to a steakhouse, and I ordered chicken. Boy because I played "i've never". Someone said, "I've never been a boy," and I got up and got caught in the middle.
42. We used to play a game at the local lake in college called "the lake game." You get out of the car (about 7 people in a Nissan Sentra) and walk as far as you can. When a car comes, you run as fast as you can and dive into the car. You have to keep your head down.
43. I was astonished to know that after we graduated, several current students play the lake game.
44. I was dared to go around the boys' dorm with no shirt. I did it along with 2 other girls.
45. We got in a police chase on campus in a mini van because we were doing donuts in the commuter parking lot.
46. I love the smell of a new box of crayons.
47. I once got cheered as I urinated behind the car at the lake. "Gimme a G! G! Gimme an O! O! What's that spell-- Go Shannon Go!"
48. I can't go to the bathroom while others are in the bathroom in public places.
49. I love Civil War history.
50. I can say certain phrases in Swed, French, German, and Spanish.
51. I am learning Gaelic, and how to play the guitar.
52. My favorite letter is K though I have no K in my name.
53. I can sculpt, draw, and craft. I love to do ink washes.
54. I once got locked in a closet during a slumber party.
55. My first "kiss" was during a game of House in kindergarden.
56. My only D in my life was in 5th grade Spelling.
57. I've never had a Now or Later.
58. I collect Teddy Bears, Sunflowers, Unicorns, Lady Bugs, rocks, mugs, and pencils.
59. I have a unicorn in my class ring under the stone.
60. I love yellow and smiley faces. ETA: not smileys as much anymore.
61. My family nicknames are "peanut" and "bunk".
62. My friends call me "huggy bear" because I love hugs and am a great hugger.
63. I would drop everything and marry one person whom I will not name if he asked me right this second. ETA: He's married. LMAO. This list was from '03.
64. I love pictures and picture frames. I spent nearly 1,000 dollars in college on pictures.
65. I scrapbook everything. ETA: I'm nearly a year behind.
66. I journal --I used to journal 3 times a day in college.
67. I sing second soprano. I was in a singing group in college.
68. I've had more than 20 crushes on guys. One guy I liked from 5th grade-11th grade.
69. I keep every test and paper in folders.
70. I am grooming myself to be a Jeopardy champion with all my useless trivia.
71. I have my own logic termed "Shannon logic."
72. I have my own book of scripture termed "The Book of LeShannon." LOL
73. My favorite book of the Bible is Philippians.
74. I've read almost all the major translations of the Bible through. (I've read the Bible completely in KJV, NKJV, Contem., NIV, NASB, and Message)
75. During the summer, I would read complete volumes of encyclopedias. I got through C before I gave up.
76. Garfield is my role model. ETA: Well, kinda still.
77. Sarcasm takes much talent.
78. I used to dress up like Punky Brewster for school.
79. I have an obsessive personality.
80. I hate scary movies but I love thrillers. On a funny note, I loved "Critters."
81. I love mobster movies.
82. I've met over 20 famous music bands.
83. I saw all the Police Academy movies in the theaters. (I didn't know any different.)
84. I've never had just ONE best friend. I have circles that encompass circles of levels of friends.
85. I don't really regret anything.
86. Though I don't usually carry a purse, I love collecting purses from different countries.
87. I broke off a piece of the pyramid. I felt bad, so I gave it to a friend.
88. I am learning sign language. ETA: Still working on it.
89. I have really great internet friends that I call e-friends.
90. My pastor in Waco is a woman. ETA: Was a woman. Then I started going to Church Under the Bridge-- still a cool fact. I attend outside.
91. I cut a hunk out of my ankle when learning to ride a bike. My ankle got caught in the chain.
92. I had a mini motorcycle that I rode everyday.
93. I used to eat rocks as a toddler. Til recently, I couldn't swallow pills.
94. I had two horses named Princess and Goldie growing up.
95. I stole a piece of spagetti from a bag when I was five. My mom made me go back and buy the bag. I've never stolen anything since.
96. My parents are my bestest (lol) friends.
97. My best roomie ever has been Dee. ETA: Still true!
98. My spiritual gift is encouragement.
99. I have the first issue of Entertainment Weekly.
